In general the newer forklifts are full of technology and with that comes complexity. For our overseas export buyers we recommend keeping it as simple as possible. Fuel: What fuel do you need it to run on? Remember forklifts used indoors must be LPG or Electric.

Cargo Lifting Capacity: How much weight do you need to lift?

Terrain: What is the terrain like on which forklift will be operated? For example: asphalt, concrete, dirt, rocks, etc.

Tires: Cushion or Pneumatic. Cushion tires are the solid tires which are hydraulically pressed onto rim. The pneumatic tire is an air inflated tire on rim. Much like a standard tire & rim.

Special plumping: Will you be needing 3^rd valve to operate attachments?

What will you be lifting?

1. Determine length of forks, do you need special attachments, etc.
2. Do you need side shift or fork positioner?
3. Do you need deep reach extension?

How high do you need to lift?

1. What is the maximum lift height that you need?
2. What weight at this max height?

Lastly, but most importantly, budget and age of equipment.

All equipment has a general market price. You typically can’t buy a 2012 5,000lb Forklift for $7,000, but you can buy a 1990 5,000lb Forklift for $7,000. So decide how much you can spend on this equipment. We will work to place you in the right piece of equipment at the budget you determined. At Yellow Deck we can refurbish and service equipment. So sometimes an older forklift that has been refurbished is the right equipment at the right price.

The price range for used forklifts is based on year of manufacture, make, type and general condition. Everyone wants to get the best equipment for the lowest price, but setting a budget helps define what we can offer.
