Lowboy is a phrase that covers many types of heavy haul trailers in the minds of trucking operators. The traditional lowboy is the Removable Goose Neck (RGN) front loading lowboy trailer. Which comes in either GROUND BEARING or NON GROUND BEARING (NGB). The Ground Bearing lowboy has the hydraulic cylinder that raises or lowers the lowboy trailer deck to facilitate coupling of the gooseneck. The non-ground bearing has no hydraulic cylinder to raise or lower the trailer deck.
